Charity

While life is about eating one luscious cake after another, we firmly believe in giving back to society.

Charity is about experiencing life, understanding each other (& ourselves in the course of it!) and being human all at once. Ultimately, it is about reaching out to another person and helping those truly in need.

At 'TotallyLusciousCakes' we conduct bak
ing classes for under-privileged children, and proceeds from the sale of premium cupcakes and specialty cakes from this website would go toward this cause.

We help these children build up their confidence and self-esteem, and in the future, hope that they would blossom into the best that they can be! At the same time, we allow them the platform to totally enjoy and express themselves through baking the cakes!

If you would like to sponsor the baking classes, please contact Baker Ben for more details.

We also provide baking classes for adults and children, at a fee. If you are interested, please contact Baker Ben for more information.

I Heart You

Children need love just as much as anyone else, and are willing and ready to show their love. In Feb 2010, these girls made cupcakes specially for teachers and friends to celebrate Valentine's Day.

The making of Pistachio-Raspberry Cupcakes! All it took was the chopping of pistachios, beating the batter and assembling the little fairy cakes, and then watching them raise in the oven while the kitchen permeated with the warm aroma of freshly baked goodies.

I Can Do It!

Kids learning how to make Green Tea Tiramisu...a great time for children using their hands!

It is not so much the cake or even the baking process, but the experience of being able to achieve the little task they set out to do. The sense of accomplishment (for the kids) is priceless, and it goes a long way toward building their self-esteem and confidence.

And the fact that they know that there is someone out there helping them, caring for them...is all that matters.

A Very Special Chocolate Cupcake

TotallyLusciousCakes taught the kids how to make a very special chocolate cupcake. It was all finger-licking good! And just in time for Christmas as well.

Making of Apple Cinnamon Cakes

The children were involved in cutting and slicing up the apples, plus mixing the batter to a yummy finish. Once the cake batter was in the tins and popped into the oven, they went out to play! Moments later, the Apple Cinnamon Cakes were done and cooling on the rack....just in time for afternoon tea.

Flowers & Cakes!

Deocrating a lemon cake was a bed of flowers! First, it was preparing the frosting - everyone wanted a hand in making the buttercream. Then it was covering the cakes in the buttercream, and the fun part was decorating the cakes with lovely flowers. The real fun began when the kids started eating the buttercream!!!

Going Bananas over cupcakes!

Making Chocolate Banana cupcakes was a real treat! Even passer-bys were attracted by the sweet aroma of chocolate and cinnamon, and had to pop in for a curious look. As usual, baking the cupcakes was fun, but frosting them was really the icing on the cake (pun intended)!

Vanilla Raisins Cupcakes

The children were all clamouring to whisk the cake batter and mix in the raisins. Some were busy smelling the vanilla and tasting the batter at every opportunity. While others were fascinated with how the cupcakes rise in the oven, sitting by it patiently.

When the cupcakes were perfectly baked and cooled, every child got on with decorating them. Creative juices flowed and all sorts of designs emerged. Of course, there were those who were busy decorating the cupcakes and eating the frosting at the same time!

Strawberry Birthday Cake

Today's baking class was all about making a Strawberry Birthday Cake! The kids at Marymount Center wanted to surprise their beloved social worker, and so decided on a perfectly cute strawberry cake. The children prepared the strawberries, creamed the cake and decorated it - and had so much fun in the course of making the cake! Best of all, there was left over buttercream which were reserved happily for an afternoon treat. It was all finger licking good!

Rocky Road Cupcakes

Baking classes were held for the children at Ahuva Good Shepherd in the morning. The specialty of the day was Rocky Road Cupcakes! The children were thrilled with the prospects of making these sweet offerings!

Each child had a fantastic time melting milk chocolate with biscuits, and then mixing it together with walnuts and marshmallows. Finally, the cupcakes were topped with colorful sprinkles before taking their place in the refrigerator to chill.

Proud as they were, the children decided to share these beauties with the rest of the children and staff at the home.
